Includes sizes small, medium and large. The Blossom Foot is a foot maker that stamps a six-petal flower in raised relief onto the base of your piece. Drape your slab over a mold, dust the clay lightly with cornflour so it will not stick, then center the foot maker and push it firmly into the clay. Swivel it gently up, down, left and right, wiggling a little so every edge releases, then slowly lift it away, with no sharp pulls. What is left is a crisp raised six-petal flower that gives the piece a finished foot and a signature maker's mark. Part of the Foot Makers collection.

Use the foot maker anywhere

Press a Foot in One Go
Press a Foot in One GoLine the foot maker up on the base and press. You get a clean, even foot ring in seconds, without trimming it on the wheel.
Matching Sets
Matching SetsEvery piece gets the same foot at the same depth, so bowls and plates in a set sit level and read as one family.
Handbuilt Bases
Handbuilt BasesGive slab and pinch pieces a proper lifted foot. The base clears the table, so glaze runs stay off your shelf.

How to use

Work at Soft Leather HardPress the foot once the piece is soft leather hard. Softer clay slumps under the tool and wetter walls distort when you turn the piece over.
Line It Up FirstSet the foot maker down on the base and check it is centred before you press. Lift and reposition rather than sliding it, which smears the clay.
Press Straight DownCenter the foot maker on the base and press straight down with firm, even pressure. Keeping that steady downward pressure through the center, gently rock the tool in every direction to release the edges, then lift it straight up. Go easy on the rocking, too much widens the ring and leaves an uneven edge.
Tidy the EdgeRun a damp sponge or a rib around the ring to soften the cut edge. It stops the foot chipping later and gives a cleaner glaze line.
Clean and Store DryWash off clay with water and a soft brush, then dry fully before storing. Keep foot makers out of direct sun and away from heat, which can soften plant-based plastic over time.
