Ledge

Ledge
$7.98
A stepped profile with two distinct planes that create a sharp horizontal ledge around the vessel's midsection, dividing the form into a flared upper body and a wide tapering base. The abrupt transition between the two sections is the whole point, a deliberate interruption that gives the pot a sculptural, architectural quality you cannot achieve freehand. Great for decorative vases and statement planters where you want the form to tell a story from every angle. One rib, two personalities. The ledge is where they meet.

How to use
Designed for gripThe cut-out holes are for your fingers. Hook a finger or thumb through one or two of them for a secure hold, even when your hands are slick with slip.
Find the right angleHold the rib at a low angle against the clay and let the shaped edge do the work. Light, steady pressure smooths walls and pulls profiles into shape without gouging.
Wipe down after each useRinse off slip and clay residue with cool water and wipe the rib dry with a cloth. Prompt cleaning keeps the edges crisp.
Skip the hot waterClean with cool or lukewarm water only. Hot water can soften the engineered wood over time and dull the profile.
A short soak is fine — overnight isn'tSoaking for a few hours to loosen stuck clay is no problem. Just avoid leaving the rib submerged overnight or for long stretches. Prolonged exposure to water will shorten its life.
Store flat and dryBetween sessions, store ribs flat in a dry spot with good airflow. This prevents the engineered wood from warping and keeps the profile accurate for years.
